Discover for yourself Bedford’s history, spanning more than a thousand years in a trail leading around the Castle Mound and through the Castle Gardens of the Embankment area of the River Great Ouse which is one of the most central and attractive features of the town.
The renowned collections of the Cecil Higgins Art Gallery and Bedford Museum, along with the innovation of the BCA Gallery and close by The John Bunyan Museum make up Bedford's Cultural Quarter
Out of town the country lanes will take you through some of the prettiest villages in the county, with traditional pubs, open farms and typical English village activities including annual fetes, open gardens and church cream teas. There are unique attractions in the 306th Bombardment Group Museum, The Glenn Miller Museum and Wild Britain.
No lack of excitement here either with skydiving, paintballing, monster truck and 4x4driving, drag racing, water-skiing, FI driving, target shooting, horse-riding, safari park adventures and stately homes all just a short distance from the town centre.
