Discover for yourself Bedford’s history, spanning more than a thousand years in a trail leading around the Castle Mound and through the Castle Gardens of the Embankment area of the River Great Ouse which is one of the most central and attractive features of the town.

The renowned collections of the Cecil Higgins Art Gallery and Bedford Museum, close by The John Bunyan Museum make up Bedford's Cultural Quarter

Out of town the country lanes will take you through some of the prettiest villages in the county, with traditional pubs, open farms and typical English village activities including annual fetes, open gardens, church cream teas and unique attractions in the 306th Bombardment Group Museum, The Glenn Miller Museum and Museum of Military Intelligence.

No lack of excitement here either with skydiving, paintballing, microlighting, 4x4driving, drag racing, water-skiing, performance car driving, target shooting, horse-riding, safari park adventures and stately homes all just a short distance from the town centre.
