Bedford Guided Walk: The Rise and Fall of Bedford Castle
A Royal Charter, a not so ‘civil’ war and a castle removed stone by stone. View the site where Bedford’s motte and bailey castle once stood and enjoy views over the River Great Ouse from the recently restored castle mound.
Skirmish Teenscene
a special event on the 3rd Saturday of every month. Now in our 26th Year! All young players from age 11 upwards with parents and friends and family can play paintball together. Just £25 includes 400 paintballs and hire of kit. Call the booking office on 01234 510 012 to book.
Bedford International Kite Festival & Diamond Jubilee Celebrations
Now in its tenth successive year, Bedford International Kite festival returns to Russell Park for another showcase of kites from the four corners of the globe including America, Canada, Japan, China, Germany, France Holland and Belgium as well as flyers from across the UK. The international guests will also participate in and run a number of workshops in local schools and community groups prior to the event. The programme throughout the weekend will feature kites never seen before in the UK and children’s and adults workshops in the kite marquee. The festival has the unique ability to engage and enable all ages to take part; anyone can fly a kite. A special arena for members of the public to fly their own or made in the workshop kites will also be onsite. Alongside the various demonstrations in the arena will be a whole host of other attractions, food and drink, entertainment, music and kite stalls specialising in kite equipment, clothes and other accessories. To celebrate the Diamond Jubilee we will be extending the event in 2012 to include an 'ITS A KNOCKOUT' competition on Monday 4th June and a music event on Tuesday 5th. Free Windsurfing Sessions
Come along to try out windsurfing for FREE! This is a way to try out a new sport, and see how much fun can be had! WIindsurfing is a fun and energetic sport for all ages. The sessions will be provided by qualified instructors, and warm showers are available! Food and Drink will be available throughout the day for purchase. Hope to see you on the water soon!
