Christianity, Philosophy and Ethics Lecture
This term Keith Ward will be giving a lecture to Bedford School’s Theology and Philosophy Society. The lecture is entitled ‘Christianity, Philosophy and Ethics’. Keith Ward, who is an ordained priest of the Church of England, has held many eminent academic positions at universities around the world, including Regius Professor of Divinity at the University of Oxford. The lecture will consider the relations between morality and religion and focus specifically on the question of whether Christian ethics has become obsolete. We warmly invite you to join us for what promises to be a most engaging lecture.
Frankenstein
Victor Frankenstein, a brilliant and ambitious young student, discovers the secret of creating life. But elation and triumph are replaced by horror when the monstrousity of his creation is finally revealed. Abandoned, the Creature is left to a world that fears and rejects him, and soon his innocence turns to misery - and a murderous desire for revenge. One of the greatest Gothic horror stories of all time, Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, in a vigorous adpatation by Patrick Sandford, will be performed by Y6, 7 and 8 pupils from Bedford Prep School and Bedford Girl's School.
