What's On

40th Combat Wing Day

A day of true nostalgia at the 306th Bombardment Group Museum. During the dark days of WW11 the heavy Bomb Groups from 92nd Podington and the 305th Chelveston and Thurleigh 306th fought and died over the unfriendly skies of Europe, under the leadership of the 40th Combat Wing. The Headquarters for the wing were based at Thurleigh, it is therefore fitting that the 40th Combat Wing Day will be held at the base as part of the first ever UK Reunion Tour, with total co-operation from the veterans organisations of the other two groups.

Thurleigh Airfield, 306th Bombardment Group Museum, Thurleigh Airfield Business Park, MK44 2YP

Museum will be open as normal at 10.30am, offering the same facilities at our usual entrance price of £3.00 adults, children free. On the day there will also be events of special interest to help celebrate this very unique occasion.
