Bedford Borough Council and MCD are pushing ahead with this £20 million redevelopment scheme for Bedford’s Riverside Square which received planning approval in October 2007. Works are due to start on site in autumn 2008.
The River Great Ouse, which meanders through the heart of the town, is one of Bedford’s most attractive features. With an unrivalled waterfront location, Riverside Square will be an impressive, landmark development bringing added activity and interest to the river west of Town Bridge including a signature, building surrounding a south facing piazza with restaurants, “alfresco” cafes and prestige apartments overlooking the River Great Ouse.
